History & Overview
Beckwood was founded in 1990 by a team of former managers and technical support personnel from MODICON, Inc., in Andover, MA.
Originally, this team provided contract manufacturing services for MODICON (MODular Digital CONtroller). MODICON is the original developer of the PLC, which serves as the central processor for automated capital equipment used in mass production. MODICON PLCs have served as the model for all other PLC developers since 1968. Starting with MODICON, Beckwood has had application experience with all major PLC developers, both foreign and domestic.
Today, Beckwood creates, assembles, and tests electronic controls and electromechanical assemblies for machine tools, semi-conductor manufacturing equipment, analytical instruments, and other equipment that has high component density, high complexity, and high ECO activity.
Beckwood has developed excellent relationships with major electrical and electronic supply houses throughout the United States and Europe, and with local vendors who provide precision machine shop services, sheet metal fabrication, and painting.
Beckwood is centrally located 10 minutes from Interstates 93 and 495, right in the heart of New England's high-tech region.
